Abstract

A medical student recounts her experiences as a first year completing school completely virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic. She struggles with not being able to meet classmates, navigating the rigorous coursework alone, and ultimately feeling defeated. One committed friend and what she initially thought was useless advice turn out to help her change course and keep fighting.
